Maybe the End of the SDC Party, Feb 24
Friends, Romans, countrywomen,
We are thinking about closing the Social Design Club. We have run it on and off weekly since June, and we'd like to do something different now. BUT we realize some of you may want to continue it, and have better ideas than we have about that. SO:
Maybe the End of the SDC Party. So, we'll have a party on February 24th, where you can present your ideas about what SDC could be, and how you could continue it. We will see what comes up, and if the right team emerges, the SDC will take on a new form.
If you have ideas. You’re welcome to run them past us before the event! We can help you find others who’d be interested in your idea, before the event, so you can present as a team on the 24th.
You may wonder.... why are we giving up on SDC as it is currently? It's been exciting and a creative challenge to run the event every week, but as the weeks went on it became less an expression of our intention to build the community we wanted around the craft of social design and more an improvisational dance where we pulled something interesting out of our butts at the last moment. We are likely to focus more on meaning supplies and the school for social design, which are super exciting right now.
So, see you on the 24th! If you’ve come to previous events and you'd like to celebrate the weird and entertaining thing we were doing for a while, we will also have time for that.
Thank you for hanging out with us. Thank you for bringing your energy and your ideas and your willingness to try the weird shit we were going on about on any given week.
(We'll still see you around on Discord, trying out meaning.supplies, and at other Stoa events.)
